itsy bitsy teenie weenie

Well, I'm back after a long hiatus from my blog...consistency is not something I posses apparently! I've been making more felt food and decided to go small and have been creating key chains. I've always loved little things the smaller the cuter in my book! So far I've made a sunny side up egg and some sushi. I'm planning on making many more and once I get a good supply, will try to sell them and see how they do...I also made some sugar cookies, 3 regular sized and 3 minis that are magnets. For some reason, sewing felt together has become a passion of sorts, its just nice to see different colors come together and then before you know it, *POOF* there's a little sushi roll in my hand.

felt is my new bff

recently I've been inspired by wonderful projects I've seen from cutoutandkeep.net its a great site filled with crafty people! Everything from food recipes, homemade bath and body, to craft projects out of all types of mediums! I'm obsessed with the site and have tried my hand at a few projects, of course these are my interpretations and not exact replicas of the things i've seen.

First up is Patsy the zombette, she came out alright, but the brains went bad and turned into more of a hat...and then i went on to robots in love: Milton and Marcie, 2 mechanical darlings that just can't get enough of eachother!...I'm thinking i better get a job soon or else i'm going to have a room filled with felt playthings!!

plant based meals are not as scary as you might think!

Geez! I'm not very good at this blogging thing...i always forget to write...i'll try to be better at it!

no new felties, but i'm thinking i might try my hand at a little turtle this weekend, i'll post some photos as soon as i have them. Not a lot going on these days, oh! I went to Frazier Farms...its a whole foods/Henry's type of market and i went a little crazy...I'm trying to incorporate more whole foods and vegan dishes into my life, and so far its been great! I bought some quinoa and buckwheat and cannot wait to try them out. If any of you reading this are of the vegan variety, and are willing to share i would love some links to recipes using either of these ingredients! I also bought some toasted and lightly salted Nori and holy toledo batman!!! it is soooo good! For those of you that haven't tried it, please give it a chance! To me its an even better snack than chips! Well I suppose I should take inventory of my pantry and find out what i can cook up for breakfast...

compliments from the chef

It's times like these I realize procrastination is not something I value about my personality...I was able to finish the 2 projects I had planned for Easter, but didn't get them to the level I would have liked. The holiday weekend was great, the weather was nice and seeing the family was fun. 2 of my cousins brought girlfriends and they fit into our family wonderfully! It was cool to have some outsiders and spice things up a bit. We also had the chef from our favorite Pho restaurant join us, he is such a nice guy and made DELICIOUS salmon crostinis. with a caper and shallot sauce! YUMMO!!...Georgie LOVES his breakfast basket and took a particular liking to pancake #1 and the bacon...he was so adorable running through the yard with a pancake in his mouth...and my cousin liked her bento box as did everyone else, passing it around the group I heard many "that is sooo cute!" and let me tell you it made me feel good...all though I know I could have done better on it, it was wonderful to get positive feedback. The holiday has given me inspiration and made me want to get better at my sewing and create more little gems and see where it takes me...

sunday brunch

Well I suppose I should have started this sooner, but I'm attempting to make everyone gifts for Easter. Starting with a brunch basket for my favorite dog Georgie. He's my mom's beloved, but I adore him as much as she does. I decided that I would make him some felt breakfast items to play with this Sunday...I'm only partially done with one piece of toast (well it's supposed to be toasted...but it looks a little un done to me) and a lovely little pancake...I'm planning to give the pancake a playmate and some eggs and bacon. I've also got some sushi in the works for my cousin Amy, she gets the special bento box because its her birthday. I'll post more pictures as I complete them...And also the toast I emulated is from aiwa-9 on Deviant Art....my version pales in comparison, but its the thought that counts I always say! :)

and one more thing before I sign out, the dates on those pictures are wrong. I took them today, but the camera had the wrong date and time...its fixed now! Sorry, but it was bugging me...
